Education
The Ohio State University, Master of Arts, Department of Education
At OSU, I attended graduate school in Higher Education and Student Affairs with an emphasis in Counseling Psychology and served as a Graduate Associate for both years. Also, I taught a non-credit class on leadership. Upon graduating, I was hired by OSU as a Residence Hall Director for 3 halls which housed over 600 students and employed 60 student staff members. After about 18 months, I seized the chance to move out of the halls and became a Financial Aid Counselor. In these early post-MA jobs, I gravitated toward technology and became a power user and technical trainer for my colleagues. Since the market was better in IT and recruiters were looking for aptitude, I made the move to OSU's HR IT department and began my new passion at the intersection of people and technology.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Bachelors in Music
I have always followed my passions. Coming out of high school, my passion was to learn more about music theory and to perform. While in college, I was a Resident Advisor which led me to a different passion which was to work in student services at a University, so I set out to earn a Masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs.
